Based on performance averages throughout the conference season, two USC boys received Gopher Conference All-Conference trophies this year. Junior Nolan Magnuson and Sophomore Andrew Heggen tied for fourth in conference overall. Ironically, both had exactly the same number of strokes during conference meets (171) and, therefore, had exactly the same average 9-hole score (42.8). Congratulations, Nolan and Andrew!
One USC boy received Gopher Conference Honorable Mention this season, as well. Blake Legred took 182 strokes during conference meets this season, for a 9-hole average of 45.5. Congratulations, Blake!
Morgan Pyzick was the medalist for the Conference Meet and she also received All-Conference status by besting all other girl golfers by more than 4 strokes, on average, for the season.
Both teams return to action next Thursday, May 24, 2018, when they host a conference meet at Oakview to end the regular season. The meet starts at 4:30 p.m. and will involve USC, NRHEG, Blooming Prairie, and Bethlehem Academy.
