Course Description
This class is designed to expand upon knowlwdge gained in Metal Tech. l. We will perform many of the same processes, however the student will be expected to carry them to a more precise and complex level.

Course Assignments
Assignment I: Personal Safety. Review OSHA regulations and personal safety rules regarding area safety.

Assignment II: Metal Lathe. Thread cutting, taper turning and knurling.

Assignment III: Foundry. Students will develop and pour a pattern of their choice.

Assignment IV: Welding. Emphasis is on pentration and joint development using MIG welding. Aluminim welding will be explored.

Assignment V: Sheet metal. Sheet metal pattern development.

Assignment Vl: Computer Numeric Control (CNC). Student developed parts.

Assignment VIl: Bench Work. Deburring, draw filing, riveting and other bench processes.

Assignment Vll: Vertical Milling Machine. Setup and processes of milling.

Assignment lX: Final project. Students will build a major project of their choice using as many of the procedures as necessary.

Additional requirements
Attendance: Since this a task performance type of class, you need to be in class in order to perform the tasks required and receive the information presented. Class time is spent working in the lab. Students will receive 5 points every day for proper conduct and effort. Missed lab days can be made up before or after school within 2 days of each day missed. Points will be deducted from your daily grade for unexcused absences and tardies.

Due dates: Written assignments will be due on or before the date given. Late assignments will be downgraded 1/3 grade for each day after the due date.

Grading Policy
Quarter grades will be determined by total points of all assignments and tests.

90 - 100% A
80 - 89% B
70 - 79% C
60 - 69% D
50 - 59% D-
Below 50 % F
